The Myth of Media Skills: A Return to the Real World

The decline in cognitive abilities due to hours spent in front of a screen has pushed schools towards books and pens. Will this change be observable in Germany as well?

In today's world, where technology has become an inseparable part of our lives, we are witnessing a significant decline in individuals' cognitive abilities. This phenomenon is the result of hours spent in front of a screen, which gradually leads to reduced concentration and critical thinking.

Return to Roots

For this reason, schools in various countries, from the United States to Sweden, have seriously returned to the use of books and pens. This promising shift in approach indicates that educational systems are striving to free students from the trap of digital technologies and return to more traditional methods of teaching.

However, in the meantime, a specialized commission in Germany still insists on education through screens. This raises many questions: Will this approach benefit students in the long run, or will it only exacerbate their depression and lack of focus?
