The President of Berlin, Kai Wegner, emphasized the pivotal role of the United States during the Cold War, stating that this gate is a testament to America's steadfast commitment to defending the freedom of Berlin. Expressing gratitude for American support, he noted that this historical cooperation has transformed Berlin into a free and democratic capital.
The German Foreign Minister also regarded this event as a reason for celebration and joy in Europe, especially in Berlin. According to him, the values enshrined in the Declaration of Independence of the United States laid the foundation for a free and unified Germany after World War II.
The United States will celebrate its grand 250th anniversary on July 4, and thousands are expected to attend the central ceremony in Washington. In this context, the former President of the United States has also announced the holding of the "largest gathering" for this occasion.
