America, the land of opportunities and ideas, will soon celebrate its 250th anniversary. But in the meantime, a fundamental question arises: Do all those born in this land consider themselves part of the greater American community?

A Search in Tennessee

On our journey to the state of Tennessee, we meet individuals who each have different stories about their connection to this country. Some openly express feelings of indifference towards American identity, while others passionately recall the founding ideals of this nation.

This contrast in emotions shows that 250 years after the founding of the United States, there are still many identity and social challenges. Do Americans still believe in the promises this country has made to them? Or is this land merely a name stamped on their passports?
