Guardrails, which are intended as a tool to reduce the severity of accidents and provide security for vehicles, have gradually turned into a serious threat. While their primary goal is to prevent vehicles from leaving the road and to protect against accidents, studies show that in many cases, these barriers create even more dangerous conditions.
Are the Guardrails Really Safe?
When a vehicle collides with guardrails, the outcomes can be far worse than a direct accident. The rails, especially under certain conditions, can act like weapons and cause serious injuries to vehicle occupants. According to accident statistics, many drivers and passengers have suffered injuries due to collisions with guardrails, which is completely unacceptable.
With the increasing number of accidents and unfortunate incidents caused by these barriers, the question arises: Is it not time for a serious reconsideration of the design and installation of guardrails?
