At the Benedictine monastery, the memory of the great cleric, Rudolf Lünkenbein, who fought for the rights of the indigenous people of Brazil, was honored. He was murdered in 1976 due to his efforts to defend the rights of the Boru indigenous people.

Courage Against Oppression

During this memorial ceremony, Father Heinz Manz referred to Lünkenbein's courage and sacrifice, and remembered him as a symbol of resistance against injustices. Lünkenbein collaborated with Siaw, an indigenous person, to promote the rights of the Boru and acted as their voice against oppression and tyranny.

This event not only serves as a reminder of his efforts for social justice but should also be seen as a call for all of us to support human rights and respect indigenous cultures. In today's world, there are harsh realities of injustices and oppression against various peoples that need to be addressed.
