On July 14, 2021, the rainfall was so heavy that small rivers turned into raging floods, bringing devastating consequences for the residents of Artal. This disaster, which occurred in just a few hours, claimed many lives and caused extensive financial and infrastructural damage.
Long-term Consequences and Reconstruction Efforts
Since then, numerous efforts have been made to rebuild and improve infrastructure. However, many questions remain unanswered: Have we truly learned lessons from this disaster? And can we prevent such events from occurring in the future?
