The heartbreaking fire incident in a residential house in Reutlingen County claimed the life of an elderly man. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when neighbors were alarmed by smoke coming from the upper floor and immediately contacted emergency services.
Rescue Efforts Proved Futile
Firefighters acted swiftly and managed to rescue the man, who lived alone there, from the burning building. However, unfortunately, all efforts to save his life were in vain, and he passed away during transport to the hospital.
The fire department was able to extinguish the fire in the room where the incident occurred. However, details regarding the cause of the fire are still unclear, and the police are investigating the matter. Initial estimates suggest that the financial damage to this old building in Dettingen is estimated to be around 100,000 to 150,000 euros.
With 51 firefighters and 14 medical personnel present, this incident became one of the most tragic events of the day. Further details regarding this tragedy are still under investigation.
