Derby week began with a delay due to unprecedented heat, and in the midst of this, Inura, the favored and anticipated horse, introduced himself to everyone with a decisive victory in the Sparkasse Holstein Cup. This race, held for prizes worth €30,000, took place over 2,200 meters at the Hamburg-Horn racetrack.
An Unmatched Performance by Inura
Under the saddle of Leon Wolf, Inura showcased his dominance from the very start of the race, giving no chance to the other competitors. Ultimately, Princess Valentina, ridden by Martin Seidl, finished in second place, while Ruby Lips, ridden by Rene Pichulek, came in third. Inura, under the supervision of Henk Groth, is recognized as a champion and belongs to the Route 66 stable of the Hellmich family and Brand Reis.
Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, Inura showed that everything is in his hands this derby week. With three more days of racing scheduled for Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, excitement and competition are expected to continue, culminating in the climax of the 157th German Derby on Sunday.
