Lexi Minetree, a 25-year-old actress portraying young Elle Woods in the new series 'Elle', unveiled important details she emphasized in her costume design during a panel at Obsessed Fest.
A Dress with Pockets: Every Woman's Dream
Minetree noted that one of her priorities in costume design was the presence of pockets in them. She pointed out, "We really fought for the existence of pockets. Honestly, a dress with pockets? Elle would definitely love this." These details align with the innovative and forward-thinking spirit of the character Elle Woods, who has always been ahead of her time in fashion.
Additionally, Minetree talked about her passion for this character's outfits, mentioning that she informally "borrowed" some of the clothes from the set. She said, "Many of these outfits were so beautiful - how could I resist them?"
Practices for Recreating the Character
However, Minetree's efforts are not limited to costume design. To get closer to the unique tone and energy of Reese Witherspoon in the lead role, she performed 15 minutes of physical and vocal exercises every morning. She also frequently used lines from the original film, jokingly stating, "People in the background probably thought I had gone crazy."
Moreover, Witherspoon has also been a guide alongside Minetree, offering advice on drinking enough water, resting, and enjoying every moment of this unique experience.
The series 'Elle' premiered on July 1 of this year on Prime Video, telling the story of Elle Woods during her high school years, when she had not yet risen to fame as a law student in 'Legally Blonde'.
